A little about me

I’m a multidisciplinary product designer, storyteller, and maker who’s spent the past twenty years shaping ideas into experiences, from space hardware and pet microbiome science to children’s adventures. I’ve spent most of my career as a hands-on, multidisciplinary IC, bridging UX, product, and brand to turn complex ideas into thoughtful, beautifully usable experiences.

Originally trained in Software Engineering, I bring both technical fluency and creative intuition to every project — a foundation that makes it easy to learn new tools, collaborate effectively with developers, and design with real-world constraints in mind. My career spans agencies, enterprises, and startups, evolving from graphic and web design to advertising, branding, packaging, marketing, and product design.

I worked across vastly different frontiers, often as the founding and sole designer leading projects from strategy to execution. At Transcelestial, I built a company-wide design system, developed an installation app, and even designed a space telescope enclosure. At Blackᵉ, a pet wellness company combining nutrition and microbiome science, I led design end to end — shaping the brand ecosystem, mapping user journeys, redesigning packaging, writing UX content, and setting up AI-driven workflows and scalable business systems. Those experiences taught me how to apply systems thinking with empathy, connecting craft, function, and purpose across every context.

After two decades in design, I took a self-funded sabbatical to slow down and rediscover why I create. What began as sketching for my daughter evolved into Magic Pony Books, my independent imprint, and my debut title The Magic Crystal, a 112-page interactive children’s adventure won a Silver Medal for Best Writer/Illustrator at the 2025 Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards.

This passion project was an intensive exercise in end-to-end product ownership: mapping the complex story logic and branching systems, designing the entire brand ecosystem, building an e-commerce platform, and applying UX storytelling and systems thinking to a complete customer journey. Currently experimenting with AI-generated animated short films and planning to explore vibe coding soon.

As I wrap up this sabbatical, I’m now looking for a role where I can stay close to the craft while driving meaningful impact, through design systems, visual language, and thoughtful, end-to-end execution. If this resonates, I’d love to chat.

After 20 years in design — spanning print, digital, branding, packaging, advertising, UX, product, industrial design, including web development — I took a self-funded sabbatical to slow down and rediscover what inspired me to create in the first place. Founded an independent publishing imprint during my sabbatical, transforming a personal creative project into an award-winning publication focused on emotionally intelligent storytelling. Wrote, illustrated, produced, and self-published The Magic Crystal - a 112-page choose-your-own-adventure designed to nurture critical thinking, empathy, and courage in children. Winner of the 2025 Moonbeam Children’s Book Award – Best Writer/Illustrator (Silver). Built brand identity, website, and production workflow from scratch. Designed a custom holographic deluxe hardcover edition, activity sheets, and promotional materials.

Product Design Lead / Brand Systems Designer

Joined early-stage as the founding designer, leading brand, UX, and product systems before formal teams were hired. Played a multidisciplinary, hands-on role in a lean pet-wellness biotech startup, bridging brand, product, and technology from the ground up. Partnered directly with the founder to shape creative direction, user experience, and business strategy. Led the full rebrand of the pet nutrition and microbiome testing business. Defined a scalable brand ecosystem across three sub-brands — Blackfoot, Black Lab, and Black Eco. Redesigned packaging for freeze-dried and microbiome product lines. Designed the pet microbiome reporting system from concept to delivery. Developed a custom GPT workflow to automate report content generation with consistent accuracy, structure, and tone. Authored all UX content across product and brand, establishing templates and tone guidelines for clarity and cohesion. Built and maintained a design system to ensure unified visual and functional standards. Directed food photography and developed cohesive visual systems for digital and print. Established the company’s operational and IT backbone — Google Workspace, documentation systems, claims workflow, and project tracking. Supported early business and product strategy using Lean Startup Canvas, personas, and conceptual models. Contributed to talent acquisition, onboarding, and early process development.

UX & Product Designer

Operated as the sole designer and brand guardian, owning end-to-end design across product, brand, and marketing touchpoints. Developed a comprehensive design system used company-wide. Designed a web app that streamlined product installation and field maintenance. Created a custom typeface to strengthen brand identity and legibility. Established a digital brand guide and produced cohesive marketing and social collateral. Designed all space project visuals, including a commemorative mission patch. A beautifully illustrated, 112-page choose-your-own-adventure children’s book that empowers young readers to become the hero of their own story. The Magic Crystal invites children aged 6–9 to make choices, explore nine whimsical worlds, and uncover eight unique endings — each revealing lessons on courage, empathy, and self-trust. Blending storytelling, art, and design thinking, it transforms reading into a multi-sensory adventure through rhyming narratives, guided reflection points, and downloadable activities. Designed and self-published under Magic Pony Books, the project bridges creativity and education — encouraging children to think critically, make confident decisions, and discover the magic of their own imagination.
